Cyclists food festival
Fantastic organisation, catering & weather. Perhaps we need to contribute to a pothole repair fund.
A very well organised 213 km
This event had a reputation for excellent food. I was not disappointed ! Two Village Hall controls with a fantastic spread of healthy food. Then the far out Glastonbury free control , finally the station cafe – a great stop. Apart from the decent altitude gain, to my mind the standout was the great food. The glorious weather was a bonus
A blast through many villages and cakes!
This was my first BBB and very enjoyable. I rode with three friends, foolishly adding a return trip from Bishopston to the start/finish at Long Ashton, so clocking in at 139km total. The route was excellent and it was great to see some villages that had not featured on regular Sunday rides before. A driver kindly pulled aside ahead of us giving us priority on a single track road with 30km total go and told us she had finished earlier and was on her way home! Obviously didn’t spend as much time at the cake stops as us and reinforced the point that the ride was open to all abilities and ages! The GPS route was very clear, organisers were great, friendly and jovial and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the event or do it again. Thanks for a great day!
Another ACB excellent event
From the organisation at the start through a great route and some great cake a simply great event. Very popular and had a similar feeling to Moonrakers and Sunseekers except there was no need for lights…
Pavlova at Hill, banana cake at Doynton
It’s a very enjoyable event but with some challenges:
– cake or pavlova at Hill? (Solution: have both)
– sandwich, soup or cake at Doynton? (Solution: have all three)
– cake or savoury at LA? (Solution: running out of room so just had cake)
Oh, and the cycling was fun too! Well done on keeping the Spirit of Barry going. Thanks to all organisers/volunteers/bakers/participants.
My favourite Audax ride!
This was my introduction to the world of Audaxes. Many years later, it’s my favourite Audax ride. It is a fantastic route along mainly quiet lanes with stunning scenery and some absolutely legendary cake stops. I look forward to Barry’s Bristol Bash each and every year!
Brilliant ride with stunning views
Fantastic catering at the cake stops, cake you wouldn’t believe and fabulous scenery on a well thought out route that almost totally avoids main roads.
Lovely route, spoilt only by poor road surfaces
The route takes some quiet roads south through some beautiful hills. The only issue is that the road surfaces are sometimes bad, or even very bad, and there was still lots of water on some of them despite it not having rained for 2 weeks. The organisation was spot on.
Weather and hills organised by Will
Another cracking route and event organised by Will. Weather was also well managed although I was over dressed. Lots of challenging Wills Hills and new roads to me.
Chasing after the Sorcerer
Well done Will. What an epic event chap. A hard ride but ultimately rewarding.
Many Thanks Si
