Lovely route and great company
A lovely audax with parking near start and a warm cafe before the off. Controls well selected and very welcoming. Recommend the quality of the mud on the road…
A ride of two halfs…night and day
Great adventure, well organised with brilliant controls, would definitly do it again.
Accessible Adventure
The route and spacing of control points (staffed with amazing volunteers) just about keeps the ride enjoyable while challenging.
Clear moderation in opting for the Strawberry path rather than up one of the steep mendip climbs.
Riding above Milton Abbas surrounded by mist at dawn was pretty special.
Steaming on 2025
An absolutely fabulous route, clearly a fairly testing day out, but rewarded with some stunning sections of cycling terrain. Sadly for myself, due to an OFF bike mishap, totally my own fault, I only managed half of this ride, but I cannot wait to come back next time to finish off this unfinished business.
Tough and enjoyable way to spend a weekend
I’ve done hilly 600’s and enjoyed them, however, whilst the 3 day PPP format might not be quite as challenging. It’s way more enjoyable!
The route takes a number of very scenic back roads that the BCM doesn’t and these were some of the highlights of the weekend.
The accommodation and showers, whilst basic, were perfect for recovery after a long day in the saddle. There was a great camaraderie across the people riding and sharing rooms.
Well organised ride
It was my first 600 and absolutely loved it. Beautiful route and very friendly volunteers. The control points were well organised and nicely spaced.
300k on the hottest day of the year!
Brilliant route, love the way Will finds the valleys & tracks & lesser driven roads! All rounded off with some great Daal at the end, great day out!
Great organisation
I was worried that it would be too hot for 300 km, but with Will’s extra stops and rivers where we could refresh it was great ride.
Road to Rode – a great day out
I am relatively new to Audaxes so I chose this one for a distance I could confidently achieve and the generous time limit as well as somewhere I hadn’t cycled before. I wasn’t disappointed. The route has both great country views and interesting places, like Nunney Castle. The Rode control was just right for a short break at the very welcoming cafe (first time I have been offered ice when topping up my bidons). I enjoyed the inclusion of the various cycle trails which offered traffic free riding and a little shade. I especially liked the Two Tunnels which were nice and cool on a hot day. Recommended
Hot Hot Hot
Only 30c difference in temperature compared to the Moonrakers and Sunseekers in November, however just as enjoyable in a heatwave as a frost. The mixture of of rolling country roads, Wills Hills and some gravel made it entertaining, although personally would have avoided the gravel by default (re routes were shared prior so my bad).
An enjoyable 300km, and one I would do again.
