Overview
In memory of Jon Banks, a much-loved friend and cycling companion in Audax Club Bristol and across the Audax Community, who died suddenly in 2025.
Description
Based on Jon's classic North Wessex Downs event, we roll east from Bristol across the Cotswolds before arriving at the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
White Horses, natural downlands and historic Marlborough all feature on 100km riding through some of the best of our region's countryside. After a village hall stop for tea and cake, we roll west into the setting sun before crossing the Cotswolds once more for a well earned finish.

Awesome Audax
Really enjoyable day out in great lanes!
Some tough riding at times but balanced out perfectly with great controls. Incredibly well organized and managed.
Hill and Doynton cake (and savouries) spreads were next level.
Great atmosphere with lots of friendly, like-minded riders and weather managed to show up to support too.
Will be signing up again next year for sure.
Cheers!
Fabulous audax (both for the route & the cake!)
Always a highlight of the audax year. The route is excellent and of course the weather was superb. However, it’s all about the cake and this year was no exception.
Cracking Route
This is a fantastic route, taking in some cracking views and topped off by the village cake stops. Now my second year doing this one, look forward to doing it again next year.
Cyclists food festival
Fantastic organisation, catering & weather. Perhaps we need to contribute to a pothole repair fund.
A very well organised 213 km
This event had a reputation for excellent food. I was not disappointed ! Two Village Hall controls with a fantastic spread of healthy food. Then the far out Glastonbury free control , finally the station cafe – a great stop. Apart from the decent altitude gain, to my mind the standout was the great food. The glorious weather was a bonus
